The Hampshire-based performer, won a fantastic opportunity to play the opening set at the huge Winchester festival alongside some of the best artists from around the world including Radio 1's Tim Westwood and Dizzee Rascal.
From the age of four, Vince has played a variety of musical instruments. Taking inspiration from Hip Hop, he found the idea of creating his own beats fascinating. He set up a studio to hone his style as a beat boxer, and began competing in open mic contests.
“Musically, I am influenced by Basement Jaxx because of their originality and Dizzee Rascal. Beastie Boys and Daft Punk, these guys pushed a lot of beat synthesis to new levels as well as Kraftwerk which influenced my understanding of beat making and the use of a microphone.”
Early in his career he supported major acts including The Mitchell Brothers and Skinnyman and performed live at Ministry of Sound, Glastonbury, Cargo, Southport weekender, and also made appearances on MTV Europe 2, MTV Base, Choice FM, Radio 1 and XFM gaining plaudits from famous DJ fans including Eddy Temple Morris and Tim Westwood.
More recently, under the new moniker of Frankmusik he issued the first ‘Frankisum’ EP in the autumn of 2007 on his own record label, Apparent and subsequently signed to Island Records. ‘3 Little Words EP’, his first release on Island followed in November 2008.
