Spooka

Pie Factory Music, the Thanet Action Zone released its debut album ‘Piece of Pie’ at the end of 2006. The compilation album features the work of 12 young DJs and MCs, and launched with stunning showcase performances at Youth Music’s Respect event.

One of the artists Anthony Johnson, aka Spooka has featured on BBC 1Xtra and in Channel 4 film ‘Exodus’. Thanet’s other rising stars include MCs Triple X, JDP, Yosh One and 16 year-old, Harzey, Jackapella the human beatbox, producer Sparky D, producer/DJ Docwra, rappers Juglz, Scythe and Jay Styles and scratch DJ Tom Jackson.

Spooka has released a 6-track EP called ‘Complicated Conversation’ through Conzpiracy, which features the track ‘Have You Got Da Heart’ from the ‘Piece of Pie’ album.

Pie Factory Music has recently built its own recording studio, Assembly Line Studios, which is available for commercial as well as community use. Funded by the Arts Council England, South East, it is used to support their DJing, music technology and vocal workshops.
