YOUTH MUSIC WEEK BARFLY TOUR KICKS OFF!
Check out the vid of our Cardiff winner Joni Fuller on of the first gigs of the tour!
Youth Music Week 2008 got off to a flying start with the first of our gigs on the Youth Music Barfly Tour supporting Pete and the Pirates. One of our winners, Joni Fuller took to the stage at Barfly Cardiff and wowed the crowd with her performance.
Joni first came to our attention when she auditioned for the Build a Band competition in Manchester, where she made it into the final Manchester band. She is a 17 year old singer/songwriter, pianist and violinist. Joni persuaded her parents to buy her a violin for her 5th birthday... and never looked back! She has been training classically at the Junior School at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester since she was 8 and started writing songs at around the same time.
In 2006, Joni recorded and independently released her first album 'Voices' which included 12 of her songs. Joni has just been named as a winner in the Make it Break it songwriting contest, 2008. Her song. 'America' was selected from hundreds by a panel that included Chris Martin, Steve Levine, Mark Radcliffe and The Wombats! Joni loves performing live and was thrilled to be chosen to support Pete and the Pirates at the Barfly, Cardiff during Youth Music Week.
Stay tuned for footage from the other winners!
