YOUTH MUSIC WEEK BARFLY TOUR ENDS ON A HALLOWEEN HIGH!
Hear from the bands and watch vids of the performances
So, the Youth Music Week Barfly Tour has come to an end (*sob*) and the last gig saw singer/songwriter Mike Dignam and young band The Swims supporting Pete and the Pirates at The Fly in London. The extra special Halloween Finale to the tour was sold out and the capacity crowd were blown away by the calibre of young talent we found through our nationwide search.
The tour kicked off with Joni Fuller at Barfly in Cardiff and M48 performing at Borderline in London. We then moved on to Liverpool, Birmingham, York and then back to London (phew!).
The Harringtons hit the stage in Liverpool, Birmingham saw 3 Foot Ninja named 'best support act we've ever had' by Pete and the Pirates, and York drew our biggest crowd of the tour for Minus Jack.
It's been a long week but it was a lot of fun and all the bands and musicians agreed it was a fantastic experience that they'll never forget. 3 Foot Ninja told us: "Thanks for everything you guys have done! The gig with Pete and the Pirates in Birmingham was definitely a highlight of our year so far." Oscar from Minus Jack added: "Our gig was amazing. There was loads of people there and we really enjoyed it. I'd just like to say thankyou for the opportunity and we hope that it brings more great opportunities with it."
We'd like to say a big thank you to all the winning bands (and their friends and families), Pete and the Pirates, Vincent Vincent and Barfly. It was a great week and we're a bit sad that it's all over!
