UNDER 18? LIVE IN THE SOUTH WEST?

Enter the Teenage Rampage competition and win the chance to perform at Colston Hall in Bristol

The search for the best young musicians in the South West has started.  In partnership with Bristol City Council and Youth Music, the Bristol Music Foundation (BMF) has launched the Teenage Rampage Tour Summer 09 to celebrate the opening of the new foyer at Colston Hall, Bristol.  On 19 September 2009 Teenage Rampage will take over the main stage of the 2000 capacity Colston Hall in Bristol as part of the ‘New Generation Takeover’.

You could win the chance to take to the same stage once graced by the likes of The Strokes, U2, The Rolling Stones and even The Beatles!

Teenage Rampage Summer 09 is giving young musicians in the South West the chance to:

• Play in the Colston Hall's main hall with a national headline act on 19th Sept
• Win a session in a recording studio
• Get a song on the Teenage Rampage compilation distributed to the global music industry
• Get a music industry mentor and build a team around their act

And much more..

Regional heats will be held through July and August across the South West in the following places:

Bath @ Boom! on 6th June  Teenage Rampage opener
Bristol @ Mr Wolf's on 4th July
Taunton @ Temple on 11th July
Exeter @ Phoenix Arts Centre on 24th July
Gloucester @ Guildhall on 25th July
Okehampton @ Simmons Park on 8th August
Cornwall @ Falmouth Pavillions on 13th August
Swindon @ The Furnace on 14th August
Plymouth @ White Rabbit on 15th August

A panel of experts will select between 3 and 5 bands to play at each regional Teenage Rampage heat.  The winning acts from each regional heat will then go forward to a final selection process to pick the four best acts to play at the Colston Hall on 19th September.

Application forms can be downloaded from: www.bristolmusicfoundation.com/teenagerampage

Deadline for all applications forms is Mon 22nd June 2009.

The BMF will also run Industry Insights sessions at each regional Teenage Rampage heat. Young people will be given the chance to come along and meet experts from the music industry and find out about how the industry works and the great variety of careers available. You can also apply to become a Teenage Rampage Apprentice and if successful get the chance to work within a music business, work with an industry mentor, and help develop the winning band from their area ahead of the big gig at the Colston Hall on 19th September!
