BRITS WIN BIG AT THE GRAMMYS!
UK artists clean up across the pond
UK artists have cleaned up at the 2009 Grammy Awards winning gongs right across the categories. Adele, Coldplay, Radiohead, Robert Plant and Duffy were all winners at the Los Angeles ceremony.
Coldplay were given the prestigious Song Of The Year award for Viva La Vida- beating the four other UK acts nominated. Chris Martin and the boys also won three other awards including Best Rock Album. London gal Adele picked up both Best New Artist and the award for Pop Vocal Performance for 'Chasing Pavements' whilst Welsh warbler Duffy won Best Pop Vocal Album. Another British lass, Estelle, won best rap collaboration for American Boy- featuring Kanye West. Radiohead won Best Alternative Album and Best Special Edition album for 'In Rainbows'.
The big winner on the night was wrinkly Led Zeppelin rocker Robert Plant, was given five gongs for his recent album recorded with Bluegrass artist Alison Krauss.
Other winners on the night included Metallica, Lil Wayne, The Mars Volta and John Mayer.
