AGED BETWEEN 11-16? INTO JAZZ?
Learn from professional Jazz musicians at BFI Southbank's FREE Ronnie Scotts Jazz Youth Workshops
As part of the BFI Southbank's 'Jazz Weekender' which celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Ronnie Scott's, they are offering 30 young musicians the chance to take part in a Jazz Workshop.
In a fun three hour session, five professional jazz musicians will teach you instrument techniques, the basics of jazz music, a brief history of jazz - and two songs. You will then perform those songs live on stage at the BFI.
There are two Workshops - one on Saturday 13 June and one on Sunday 14 June. The Workshops will start at 10am, and you will be on stage at 1pm.
For each Workshop, we would like up to 15 participants, as follows:
1 female vocal
1 male vocal
1 trumpet
1 bass
1 trombone
2 alto sax
2 tenor sax
1 drums
1 piano
3-4 'other' (guitar, clarinet, etc)
Please bring your instrument with you (piano & drums will be provided)
To be considered for the Workshops, you must have played your instrument for at least a year and be reasonably competent.
To apply for a place on the workshop, download the application form and return via email to ashley.clark@bfi.org.uk or via post to Ashley Clark, 21 Stephen Street, London, W1T 1LN.
The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 5 June. Successful applicants will be notified by email.
