National Diploma, Popular Music
This course is about everything from blues, jazz, rock and roll, to punk and drum and bass and the way they’re produced and recorded. Performance and recording skills will be developed and students will also learn about promotion, making music using computers, and cover the history of music too.

National Diploma, Performing Arts
Dance, drama, media production and music technology at the Graig Campus. A team ethos is encouraged and students from each course are actively encouraged to work with each other whenever possible. Staff have a wide depth of professional industry experience.

BA (Hons) in Popular Music Performance and Production
The principal areas of study are composition, performance and studio production. Theory and Practice is also covered, and students must complete a research project. There are also opportunities to study a range of specialist areas, which include, World Music, Performing With Electronics and more.

Entry: HND in Music Performance/Production at a suitably high level
National Diploma in Music Technology
The Music Industry, Listening Skills, MIDI Sequencing and Software, Studio Production Process and Studio Production form the core units. This is for students interested in the technical aspects of Audio Engineering. Students will have the opportunity to technically support college performances and outside events and gigs.
Duration: 2 Years
Entry: 4 GCSEs at grades A*- C or BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in a related subject.
HND In Music Performance (Popular Music)
A course designed to enhance the student’s employment opportunities. Core study areas include Contextual Studies, Research, Music Business and the Entrepreneur, Music Health and the Law, Principal of Musical Sound, Project Realisation, and a Specialist module - Music Performance Studies. Optional modules also form part of the course.
Duration: 2 Years
Entry: 1 A Level pass and 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above, or BTEC National Diploma/Certificate, Advanced GNVQ or AVCE in Performing Arts. Mature students without standard qualifications will be considered

BMus (Hons) Music
RWCMD is a specialist music conservatoire. The Bmus (Hons) will “provide you with the full range of knowledge and skills you will need to build a successful and rewarding career in today's professional music world.” One-to-one lessons, performance and other practical activities form the main focus. Students ‘Special Projects’ can include Mahler, Mozart, Duke Elligton and more.
Duration: 4 Years, Full Time
Entry: Audition plus A Levels, BTEC or equivalent qualifications in music. Applicants should also have ABRSM Grade V theory.
HND in Performing Arts (Popular Music)
Classes focus on the development of the knowledge and skills involved in process and production, professional practice, project realisation, arts management, research and contextual studies. There are a range of option including Songwriting and Harmony.
Duration: 2 Years, Full Time
Entry: Five GCSEs at grade C or above plus an A Level in any subject. Alternative qualifications may include a BTEC National Diploma/Certificate, Advanced GNVQ, or AVCE in Performing Arts.
BA (Hons) Popular Music: Performance and Production
Their programme is unique within the conservatoire sector, offering you specialist training for a career in composition, performance and studio production. The aim is that students, on completion of the course, will be able to market themselves within the popular music sector. You will learn to compose for a variety of ensembles and in a variety of styles.
Duration: 1 Year, Full Time
Entry: HND or equivalent qualification in popular music performance with the majority of units at merit or distinction level.

The school of music is one of the largest in the UK and offers the above options. As they point out… “The school has a high reputation for composition and performance.
