Bachelor of Music – BMus and BMus(Hons)
Combines fundamental music skills with the chance to specialise in areas of individual interest. Performance is a very important aspect of the course though students are expected to find their own instrument tutors. European art music is the main study area, but there are opportunities to learn about other musical styles.
Duration: Ordinary 3 years/Honours 4 years

Bachelor of Music – Music Technology (BMus-MusTech)
This is designed to give a broad, general background to music technology, to stimulate creativity and to confront issues of art and technology ‘in uncompromising ways’. Graduates from this course have found careers in recording, broadcast media and commercial music industries, as well as pursuing careers as artists, teachers, programmers etc.
Duration: Ordinary 3 years/Honours 4 years

History of Art and History of Music Degree
A joint degree. The first and second years, include complementary courses in both disciplines: History of Art 1 and 2, and Music 1 and 2. Students also choose outside subjects from a very wide range of options.

BMus with Honours
Performance (or compositional) activities are key here to offering a wide variety of custom-built pathways through the four years of study to cater for individual student needs. The Academy states that this course is aimed at performers and composers of outstanding potential. Optional specialisms include chamber music, concerto performance, early music/contemporary music, orchestral repertoire and more.

BEd (Music) with Honours
A course offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, University of Glasgow, and approved by the General Teaching Council for Scotland. It will primarily benefit students wishing to become classroom teachers of music in schools, as it  leads to the award of a degree together with a Teaching Qualification (Secondary Education).
Duration: 4 years full-time  

BA (Scottish Music) with Honours and
BA (Scottish Music - Piping) with Honours

Offered by the Department of Scottish Music, this course is a specialist route for pipers, and is taught in collaboration with The National Piping Centre, Glasgow. It is a unique course offering performers of Scottish traditional music the opportunity to explore Scotland’s national cultural heritage and further their skills on their first study instrument.

BMus (Bachelor of Music)
Primarily for those who want to pursue a career in music, this course covers Analysis, Harmony (both written and practical), Orchestration, Composition, and History and Performance. Later, there are opportunities to study Electroacoustic Composition, Notation, Performance Practice or other subjects, with a principal specialism such as History, Composition or Performance. The BMus degree is structured as a credit accumulation system.

BEng/MEng (Bachelor/Master of Engineering in Electronics with Music)
You need to apply via the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. This course combines musical interests with a thorough study of modern electronics, leading to an accredited engineering qualification. The balance of Engineering subjects to Music is 65:35. Acoustics & Music Technology and Integrated Musicianship are part of the Music component.

MA (Master of Arts)
Students can combine Music with other subjects for one, two, three or four years, but have the option of studying Music as a Single Honours subject in years three and four. Integrated Musicianship, Historical Studies, Composition, Counterpoint and Harmony, Opera, and Popular Music are available in the first two years.

(NQ) Rock Music Studies
A full-time course that give the grounding needed to study music at HNC level upwards. Live performance, recording, theory, and history of music are covered. The course also enables pupils to develop skills on their instrument. No formal entry requirements but you must be up to an equivalent of Trinity College Grade 3 on your instrument.
Duration: 1 year full-time

(HND) Music
This builds on the HNC that Perth also offer. You will be encouraged to develop skills in cameo performance and songwriting, music reading and critical analysis. Instruments include: guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, vocals, trumpet, trombone and saxophone, and popular music is the main area of study.
Duration: 2 years full-time
Entry: By interview and audition, in addition to you having a related group of music units or equivalent experience,  you should be able to read music to a reasonable level.

(BA) Popular Music Performance
Want to produce, manage or perform? This course is for you. They want you to leave this course with the skills to “guide the industry's development, to analyse and bring about change.” You need to be able to read music and have 3 SCE Highers to gain entry.
Duration: 3 years full-time
Entry: By interview and audition in addition to you having a related group of music units or equivalent experience. You should be able to read music to a reasonable level, and have 3 SCE Highers or their equivalent. Those who have successfully completed HND Music Performance may be able to progress directly to Year 3 of the degree course.

BA (Hons) Commercial Music
Recognising the growing size of the music industry, this course aims to equip students with the skills to forge a life-long career within it. Performance, business, technology and sociology elements are included. Musicians, producers, DJs, re-mixers, and those wishing to run small record companies, or develop artists or stage live events, are all encouraged to apply.
Duration: 4 years full-time
Entry: CC at A Level including Music or a science, plus three GCSEs including English.

BSc (Hons) Music Technology
Using computer technology, this course allows you to develop skills in audio and video production as well as web publishing. Intended for budding studio or recording engineers, sound technicians, studio designers, broadcast engineers, maintenance engineers, special-effects engineers or electronics audio-design engineers.
Duration: 4 years full-time
Entry: DD at A Level, or BCC at AS Level, preferably including either Physics, Computing or Mathematics, plus GCSE English, Mathematics and preferably Physics.
