BTEC National Diploma in Music Practice
Lincoln offers a broad-based curriculum with a contemporary feel. Students have the opportunity to specialise to a high level in the fields of performance, music technology, recording and composition. The history of popular music and the music business are covered and students will take part in performances at local venues throughout the year.
Duration: 2 years full-time
Entry: 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including English. The ability to play instrument at a competent level. Successful interview and audition.
BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Performance)
Students complete projects and assignments that are “based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.” The programme provides practical experience in production forms such as musicals, plays, touring theatre, community projects and multi-media performance. Compulsory units in Performance workshop, The Performing Arts Business, Performing Arts in Context, Rehearsing, and Performing

Music Technology HND (EDEXCEL /BTEC)
This course is suitable for those wishing to work in music production, sound engineering, broadcast and theatre production, programming, composition for multimedia and video/film, and within technical posts in education. It covers the techniques and technologies associated with the recording, composition and manipulation of sound and music.
Duration: 2 years full-time
Entry: One or more A level passes, or two AS level passes, preferably in a relevant subject area (e.g. Music Technology, Music, Mathematics or Physics), or equivalent.
BA Honours (Single Honours) Music, Technology and Innovation
This course aims to nurture “imaginative, adaptable, technically sophisticated and well-informed creative musicians.” It is suitable for careers in sound design, film, video and radio production, music and internet publishing, music for television, radio, theatre, and emerging new media, studio engineering and production, as well as music education at all levels.
Duration: 2 years full-time
Entry: A levels/ASs/AVCEs/Key Skills (level 3) – a minimum of 220 points including A Level Music or Music Technology grade C or above (applicants must have at least two full A levels)

Classical Guitar Making Certificate Levels 2 and 3
Students learn how to construct Spanish Classical and Flamenco guitars, following traditional techniques. The majority of units are concerned with the making of the guitar - which is a practical, workshop-bases activity – but students also learn about the History & Development of the Guitar.

Music BA Hons
This course views music as “a vibrant form of social and cultural practice” and aims to develop key critical and analytical skills. performance, historical musicology, gender and politics, analysis, and composition are covered, and in the first year core subjects include Interpreting Tonal Music, Introduction to Opera, Introduction to Early Music, and Innovation in Twentieth-Century Music.

National Diploma in Music Practice
This course is seen as a stepping stone into higher education. All orchestral instruments, plus voice, piano, guitar, bass and drums are taught. There is a range of ensembles, choirs, or orchestras that students can take part in and it is expected that students might progress from this course to conservatoire or university music courses.

Foundation Degree in Popular Music
This is a modular course covering Performance, Music Business, Music Technology, Songwriting and Popular Music History. Work experience forms part of the course and it is expected that students will progress to careers involving performance, administration, composition, recording or teaching, or to the third year of the BA (Hons) Music.
Duration: 2 years full-time
Entry: 80 UCAS points plus GCSE maths and English (or equivalent) AND One practical study at ABRSM Grade VII or equivalent.
BA (Hons) Music
Students develop their practical and academic abilities and have the chance to study everything from Rock Music to Classical and Jazz. There are practical performances, tutorials, and seminars, and possible careers include administration, business, composition, conducting, librarianship, performance, publishing, research, recording, sacred music and teaching.
Duration: 4 years full-time
Entry: 160 UCAS points (normally two GCE A Levels including Music or Music Technology), plus GCSE maths and English (or equivalent) One practical study at ABRSM Grade VII or equivalent.
