SAFE 13 INTERVIEW
Safe 13 are the latest band success story to come out of a Youth Music Action Zone
Safe 13 are the latest band success story to come out of a Youth Music Action Zone, the band have recently been supporting Donny Tourette’s outfit Towers of London! Rhythmix Young Ambassador, Maddy Barnett, caught up with Kyle 'Chiefman' Gasson - Safe 13 singer/guitarist for an interview…
MB: What was it like supporting Towers of London at the Forum Tunbrigde Wells.?
Chiefman: It was well good but a bit surreal 'cuz one minute you're watching them on TV and listening on the radio then the next minute you're playing with them! It was amazing!
MB: Was this the biggest gig you have ever played?
Chiefman: Actually it wasn’t, every year we do a Rhythmix Christmas party and it’s a bigger venue.
MB: What were the crowd like - did you get a lot of support or was it hard work?
Chiefman: We were lucky 'cuz most of our friends were there so there was a lot of cheering coming from them, it was just a massive adrenalin rush and everyone in the crowd seemed to be dancing and enjoying themselves.
MB: Did you meet the band? What were they like?
Chiefman: Yeah, they were so friendly, really nice and really down to earth, gave us little tips and stuff n were just really encouraging n a right laugh!
MB: What are you doing next?
Chiefman: Planning world domination...we've got a few gigs lined up - check out www.myspace.com/safe13 and www.purevolume.com/safe13
Without Rhythmix (especially Ian Barnett at Live in the Valley) we wouldn’t have been able to play at all - so thanx very muchly to everyone there. It’s given us loadsa opportunities and they have just been amazin’ to organise this for us, so cheers very much!
