Youth Music provides great opportunities for talented young musicians to perform at high profile music festivals like Glastonbury and Creamfieldsand every year. There are also some great chances to gig at high profile venues across the country including Barfly and polish your demos in professional recording studios. Watch this section to keep up to date with opprtunities coming up in 2009!
About some of our competition winners so far...
YOUTH MUSIC WEEK BARFLY TOUR 2008
Seven young bands are also being given the opportunity to play on the Youth Music Week Tour, taking place in Barfly venues across the country. The young bands were selected from a range of talented artists who uploaded auditions to the Youth Music Week site and will be supporting Pete and the Pirates and Vincent Vincent on tour.

BUILD A BAND (GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL)
Fifth Element - winners of Youth Music's Build A Band campaign to play at Glastonbury festival
Youth Music’s Build A Band campaign to give young musicians the opportunity to play live at Glastonbury festival scored a triumphant second year in 2008. Winning band, Fifth Element, performed on the Left Field stage giving band members MC Abi Lufadeju (17), keyboard player Archy Marshall (14), bass player Alex Saleh (14), lead guitarist Ben McCurdy (15) and JJ Mitchell (16) an experience they will never forget. 16 year-old Ben told us “I learned a lot from the things we did. The music we made and played to a great crowd, in such a legendary festival was the highlight of a great experience.”

ORIGIN8 (CREAMFIELDS)
Vocal Siblinz - Youth Music’s Origin8 competition winners worked with Kano and performed at Creamfields, the UKs biggest dance festival
Vocal Siblinz are Jase and Korey - two young MCs from South East London. In February 2008, they became one of the winners of Origin8 – a competition run by Youth Music in association with the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. The judging panel included British rapper Kano and songwriter Michelle Escoffery.
